JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Customs Team Leader
Reporting To: Customs Manager
Closing Date 29th November 2024 at 6pm Job Summary: To ensure compliance with HMRC, Revenue and Company requirements in the most efficient and timely manner with a particular focus on HMRC. To provide management support to the Customs team. To encourage and contribute to the progression of all team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support
- Ensuring HMRC, Revenue and Company requirements are understood and met in a timely and efficient manner
- Day to day support and management of the Customs team
- Day to day support for the Irish depots, UK depots, the TPN Network and their customers
- Management of outstanding clearances and duty collections in a timely manner
- Ensuring the release procedure is monitored and the processes in place are followed in an efficient manner
Team Support
- Providing support and cover as required
- Training team members to ensure they reach the required standard
- Ongoing support and development of the Customs team
- Leave cover management
- Working with other departments to improve the customer experience
Reporting
- Support all HMRC & Revenue reporting requirements
- HMRC, Revenue and customer query resolution
- Post HMRC & Revenue clearance checks and reconciliations
- Weekly reconciliation of Revenue and HMRC customs charges to funds received for same from customers
Other
- Continuous process confirmation, improvement and development to include
- AEO compliance
- Rigorous audit schedule to ensure full compliance with HMRC, Revenue and Customs requirements
- Development of IFMS / AEB to facilitate flipping of SAD’s and UK Customs clearance
- Leave Cover for Network Export Customer Service, processing the SAD, preparing the manifest/loading list for the warehouse and creation of PBN
- Ad hoc project support throughout the Group
- Any other duties as directed

Experience:
- A demonstrable track record of achievement within the Customs environment to include
- Management of ACP, G4/G3
- Bonding groupage manifests
- Discharge of T forms
- Consulting with Revenue, HMRC, Border Protection and other border control organisations
- A strong knowledge of Customs requirements in particular TCA UK-EU
Knowledge:
- PC literacy, MS Outlook, Excel and Word
Education
- Appropriate Customs qualification desirable
