Clinical Placement Co-ordinator, University Hospital Kerry & Affiliated Sites, West

HSE SouthBantry, Cork

The HSE has created 6 new health regions. Each region is responsible for providing both hospital and community care for the people in that area.

Bringing community health services and hospitals together means we can take a more patient-centred approach to healthcare.

Services working together within each region include:

• hospitals

• primary care services

• community services

• social care services

• public and private providers

• health and social care professionals

• voluntary sector services

This means that patients can be cared for closer to home, whatever their health needs which is an exciting and evolving context for student nurse education.

The MTU BSc (Hons) Nursing Programme currently partners with the following clinical sites across Kerry and Cork;

• Acute Services at University Hospital Kerry (Tralee), Bantry General Hospital, West Cork and Bon Secours Hospital Tralee (Private)

• Public Health/Community Nursing Services in Tralee, Listowel, Caherciveen, Killarney, Kenmare, Killorglin, Glenbeigh, Miltown, Rathmore, Castleisland, Ballyheigue, Ardfert, Dingle, Annascaul and Camp.

• Integrated Health Care Services – Tralee and wider Kerry area

• Community Hospitals/Community Nursing Units in Tralee, Killarney, Kenmare, Listowel and Dingle
