Clinical Placement Co-ordinator

The Clinical Placement Co-ordinator will:

• Provide guidance and support to nursing students in assigned clinical areas to ensure that the clinical placements meet the requirement of the education programme, with regard to planned experience and outcomes. The remit of the CPC post includes the provision of support to students in clinical learning environments in hospital and community settings beyond the principal teaching site.
• Advise, encourage and facilitate students to achieve the maximum outcome from clinical placements.
• Ensure that nursing practice assessments are fairly and accurately carried out by the appropriate registered nurses through effective liaison with Nurse Lecturers, Ward and Departmental Clinical Nurse Managers and Staff Nurses.
• Encourage the application of theoretical knowledge to nursing practice in the clinical areas.
• Work as an effective member of the Nurse Practice Development Unit
