Clinical Nurse Manager, Dunmanway Day Unit, University Hospital
Purpose of the Post
To be responsible for the management, care, and treatment of service users, to ensure that the optimum standard of care is provided within the designated area(s) of responsibility.
The primary role of the Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM 1) will be one of clinical and professional leadership and development in the nursing team, including the development of nursing staff by means of in-service training, orientation of new staff and arranging for clinical experience and supervision of student nurses where this is appropriate.
Dunmanway Day Unit
CUH is one of nine designated cancer centres of the HSE National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP). We provide cancer services predominantly to people who live in the counties of Cork, Kerry, South Tipperary, West Waterford and South East Limerick.
Our cancer services include Rapid Access Clinics for Breast, Lung, Prostate and Colorectal services, surgical cancer treatments, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Haematology Oncology consultation, chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, palliative care and psycho-oncology services.
As one of the regional cancer centres, Dunmanway Day Unit co-ordinates care of oncology/haematology patients receiving systemic anti-cancer treatment including combined modality regimes, immunotherapy , pre and post-transplant, oncology/haematology/radiotherapy trials.
