We are looking for a Part-time General Operative who takes pride in their work to join our friendly and successful team in delivering an outstanding cleaning service to our customers at the University of Galway.
Morning shift, Monday-Friday from 6am-10am!!!20 hours per week
Purpose of the Role
To undertake daily building cleaning in line with Health and Safety Standards. The general operative will work within a team to ensure that the building is kept to the highest standards of cleanliness.
Job Description
The following are key areas of responsibility for the general operative:
- Undertake general cleaning, including laboratories, offices, floors, corridors, stairwells, toilets, etc.
- Responsible for all basic cleaning of all non-clinical areas of the building.
- Cleans floors and rooms, including dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor, and spot cleaning glass and windows.
- Cleans restrooms, including restocking dispensers, emptying waste bins, cleaning and sanitising fixtures, cleaning mirrors, spot cleaning partition doors and walls, sweeping and mopping tile floors, and cleaning toilets and urinals.
- Vacuuming, emptying waste bins, and replacing liners.
- Set up, stocked, and maintained cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Monitoring and maintaining sanitation and organization of assigned areas.
- Consult with the line manager to ensure that you always have sufficient cleaning products.
- Reporting any breakages that occur during the cleaning process.
- Informing the line manager of repairs that need to be done.
- Undertake any other duties as requested.
We are happy to hear from anyone with specialist skills in these areas.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar cleaning position is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are needed.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly responsible and reliable.
- Must be thorough and pay good attention to detail.
- Garda vetting required
