Job Overview
The Business Excellence Division within NSAI Certification provides a range of third-party certification activities to a broad range of industry sectors primarily in Ireland. Typically, the certification management schemes delivery to industry include ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management system), and ISO 27001 (Information Security Management System). This certification service is delivered by a professional auditor team both full time and subcontracted, who plan and perform independent audits to evaluate and determine customer’s quality systems and/or products compliance to applicable standards and regulatory requirements.

Certification activities operate to ISO 17021:2011 the international standard for third party certification. NSAI Certification is accredited to this standard by INAB. In addition, NSAI Certification competes in Best-in-Class benchmarking audits undertaken by the World Body for National Certification organisations IQNET.

The Certification Projects Officer, for the duration of the 3-year fixed-term contract, will contribute primarily as a member of a multi-disciplinary team on an EU-funded project - Trustboost which is focused on enhancing collaborative efforts around cybersecurity compliance and certification in line with key EU legislation. As a consortium research project, TrustBoost brings together an array of partners ranging from national authorities, CABs to ICT/IoT product vendors, fostering a secure and compliant digital ecosystem within the EU through exchange of knowledge, enhancement and alignment of stakeholders’ capabilities and collaboration via a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform.

The Certification Projects Officer will contribute to, manage and coordinate NSAI’s delivery of tasks and work packages on the TrustBoost project. The Projects Officer will plan and oversee the day-to-day running of all activities related to the project and take responsibility for milestones and deliverables. The successful candidate will also support other projects within the Certification Department.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee the execution of complex work packages and tasks led by NSAI within the TrustBoost Project, ensuring successful completion.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a first point of contact for internal consortium partners and for external stakeholders’ enquiries (e.g. media, other research projects, policy or regulatory representatives).
  • Drive and monitor the activities of NSAI personnel and project partners contributing to tasks where NSAI has a commitment, ensuring all individual tasks are delivered on time.
  • Play an active role in preparing and coordinating the submission of deliverable reports and progress reports for the project coordinator, ensuring the quality and integrity of information interpreted and collated.
  • Design and engage in project-related multi-factor activities on behalf of NSAI (e.g. workshops, meetings), developed to optimise collaboration between stakeholders.
  • Oversee and assume responsibility for the day-to-day financial management, including oversight of costs, budget management and financial reporting.
  • Promote the TrustBoost project through the dissemination of project findings, tailoring communication strategies to maximise impact, to a variety of audiences as appropriate.
  • Represent NSAI at consortium meetings, actively seeking and supporting partnership opportunities, particularly in the certification field.
  • Implement the use of online collaboration platforms to electronically file all meeting actions, project papers, business updates etc. to ensure accessibility and transparency among project partners.
  • Management oversight of travel arrangements for relevant staff (flights, accommodation and transportation), while ensuring efficient use of project resources.
  • Lead on the planning, budgeting, and monitoring of other assigned projects from initial phase through to successful completion.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of matters relating to NSAI and business operations.
  • Perform any other duties as may be required by the Head of the Department.
