Centre of Obesity Management Operations Manager Role

This is an exciting opportunity at Grade VII level, to work in the Obesity Management Service in St Columcille’s Hospital, St Vincent’s University Hospital and St Michael’s Hospital, alongside a dynamic and specialist multidisciplinary clinical team.

The successful candidate will play a leading role in the current and future expansion of the Obesity Management Service, at a time when increased understanding and resourcing for obesity management is resulting in more effective and holistic treatment strategies, including emerging new pharmacotherapies and bariatric surgery interventions.

There has been an accelerated evolution of service delivery over the last 2 years, with a greater emphasis on telehealth and remote consultations, as well as online group education sessions. We need to continue to refine and adapt remote service delivery, in parallel with traditional in-person service delivery, to potentially allow greater efficiencies in delivery of care, while also ensuring equality and accessibility, and engaging in audit and evaluation of new practice and innovation.

The COM Operations Manager’s role will also include liaising with the Obesity National Clinical Programme, supporting the objectives of development of integrated models of care, and improving access to services and quality of care for adults, children and young people living with overweight and obesity in Ireland.

The successful candidate will play a leading role in the operational aspects of the Obesity

Service in St. Columcille’s Hospital and will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership and management support within the COM service
  • Service integration & optimisation across 3 hospital sites
  • Supporting the objectives of the Obesity National Clinical Programme in development and implementation of an integrated Obesity Model of Care

This campaign is confined to staff who are currently employed by the HSE, TUSLA, other statutory health agencies*, or a body which provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004 as per Workplace Relations Commission agreement -161867

Candidates must have at the latest date of application: -

• 3rd level qualification, preferable in a health-related area

• Management qualification (or be studying for same)

• Demonstrable relevant experience

• Evidence of successful project management

• Knowledge of public sector procurement and financial controls

and

(b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the office.
