Care Assistant - Ard Dara Activation Team (39 hour week)

Working hours could vary across a 7 day working week including evenings and weekends

Applicants are invited to apply for Care Assistant positions in the Activation Team in Ard Dara. The position will facilitate the activation needs of the people supported in Ard Dara.

Applicants must possess the following:

  • A relevant qualification (minimum QQI level 5 major award)

(i) Hold a FETAC Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support of which includes completion of the Intellectual Disability Studies Module and the Activities of Daily Living Module

Or

(ii) Hold a FETAC Level 5 qualification in Health Service Skills of which includes completion of the Intellectual Disability Studies Module and the Activities of Daily Living Module

Or

(iii) A relevant health care qualification equivalent to (i) or (ii) above

  • A Full clean (manual) driving licence held for a minimum of 2 years is essential
  • Have a general understanding of current legislation (New Directions, ADMA, UNCRPD)
  • Experience working with people with intellectual disability and/or autism
  • Initiative, flexibility, and enthusiasm
  • Very good communication, interpersonal & team working skills
  • Good Documentation skills are essential
  • Willing to facilitate programmes and goal setting for people we support
  • Applicants must be willing to attend training as required
