Job Summary:
Due to the continued success and growth of our business we currently have an opportunity for a CAD Technician to join the team. This role holder will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed presentation and shop drawings for our specialist joinery company.

Key Tasks:
The following reflect the main tasks associated with the position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:

• Liaise with Clients and Architects to develop scope of works.
• Follow instructions and diagrams to create or modify drawings
• Taking verbal direction and implementing into sketches and calculations to produce the final work
• Producing detailed joinery drawings and layouts for manufacture
• Coordinating filing, storage and retrieval of drawings
• Visiting sites for meetings & surveys
• Work with Architects, Mechanical and Electrical consultants and building services engineers.

Key Skills:
As a CAD Operative your main skills and experience will include:

Essential Criteria

• Design skills and production knowledge.
• Math skills.
• Be thorough and pay attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Thinking and reasoning skills

Desirable Criteria

• 3 years plus experience in a construction or joinery manufacturing environment.
• City and Guilds level 2 in CAD

Key Competencies:

• In addition to the above criteria the candidate should display the following key competencies which are essential for the role:

• Teamwork – The ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues and supply chain.
• Decision Making and Problem Solving – Must demonstrate the ability for risk identification, resolve problems and make accurate decisions.
• Technical Ability – Can demonstrate extensive knowledge of their area of expertise and how these fits into the Minor Work Department.
• Planning – Must have experience in planning and managing multiple projects to KPIs.
• Flexibility and Initiative – Must demonstrate a positive, flexible and self-motivated attitude towards the organisation and the achievement of objectives.
