About the team

&Open’s Buying and Merchandising team is growing. Together, our task is to manage product sourcing and day-to-day inventory levels. We determine clients’ needs, locate the best suppliers and help deliver great gifts. While executing the above, we also make decisions that protect the planet, helping preserve vs destruct when it comes to packaging processes and materials. About the role

We are seeking a Buying Administrative Assistant to support our Buying and Merchandising Team. Primary responsibilities will include communicating with our brand partners and suppliers, ensuring the successful placement and delivery of purchase orders. Coordinating product samples and supporting on trend presentations.

We are passionate about minimising our carbon footprint and searching for someone who is equally aligned when it comes to sustainability. 

What you'll do?

  • Gifts. Support with placing purchase orders across categories including Apparel, Perishables, Accessories, Stationery, Tech and Wellness. Review and follow up on deliveries, track gift samples.

  • Marketing. Assist our marketing with assets needed for client or internal campaigns.

  • Relationship-build. Support the relationship with existing vendors/suppliers.

  • Support. Assist our Buyer and Merchandiser with day to day tasks.

  • Cross-communicate. Strike a balance of form and function by frequently communicating with both our Design and Logistics team.

  • Refine. Work together to build a better gifting programme, day by day. Frequently find ways to improve sustainability efforts.

What you'll need

  • Undergrad degree in the area of business, postgraduate degree in the area of supply chain desirable but not essential.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365® and data entry

  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills

  • Professional demeanour with strong communication skills

  • Attention to detail (on internal and external assignments)

  • Proactive attitude, showing initiative to constantly improve &Open’s offerings

  • Innovative thinking and strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments and responsibilities, adhere to strict deadlines and work well under pressure

  • Buying internship experience and/or retail store experience.
