Biochip Manufacturing Technician, Spotting

What does the Biochips manufacturing team do?

The Biochip manufacturing team work on production lines that manufacture various Biochip arrays, to fulfil customer orders. 


Location: Randox Teoranta, Meenmore, Dungloe, Co. Dungloe, F94 TV06.

Contract Offered: Full-time, Permanent.

Working Hours / Shifts: 40 hours per week, 4 days a week from 07.00 – 18.00.


What does the Manufacturing Technician role involve?

This role is responsible for the manufacture of Biochip Arrays according to product specific formulation in accordance with standard operating procedures in an environmentally controlled cleanroom. This is an extremely varied role that will require you to develop a varied skillset, including:
  • Adherence to Health and Safety procedures, and the maintenance of a safe working environment.
  • Strict adherence to established Biochip Formulation procedures, GMP and Clean Room practices.
  • The preparation of spotting buffers used for the manufacture of biochips.
  • Performance of established in-line quality checks to ensure the manufacture of high-quality product.
  • The operation and troubleshooting of automated production lines involved in the manufacture and processing of Biochip Array products
  • The use of the Randox Vision Systems to maintain quality of formatted biochips.
  • The accurate completion of appropriate manufacturing paperwork associated with each stage of the process.
  • The alerting of the Lead Production Operator/Production Team Leader to any quality issues or problems detected during the manufacture of Biochip Array products
  • The cleaning of equipment and work areas in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Completion of trending databases and KPIs for departmental and product monitoring.
  • Assisting in the training of staff in departmental procedures and systems.
  • Assisting with trouble shooting quality issues and any non-conformances
  • The adherence to company Health & Safety procedures and the maintenance of a safe working environment.

Full on the job training will be provided on our processes.


Who can apply?
Essential:
  • Be qualified to at least GCE level in a science subject or have relevant experience within a production / manufacturing environment.

Desirable:
  • Experience with accurately recording machine performance data and relevant technical information.
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety, including CoSHH.
  • Experience of Quality systems.
  • Experience of working within a clean room environment.
