Basic Physicist

Job Purpose:

To support medical physics activities at MMUH, and Regional Hospital Mullingar

(RHM) & satellite units located in Longford and Athlone, Our Lady’s Hospital Navan

(OLHN) and the National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh (NOHC).

ROLE SUMMARY

Working as part of a team of scientists and other healthcare professionals, this basic

grade hospital physicist will provide scientific and technical support mainly at MMUH,

and to external hospitals which MMUH support. The Basic Grade will contribute as

directed to ensure that all physics related activities are safe, of the highest quality,

and are cost-effective. He/she will liaise closely and be locally directed, as relevant,

by the Radiation Protection Advisor (RPA). She/he will ultimately report to the Chief

Physicist at MMUH.
