The International Offices across SETU campuses come under the office of the Vice President for Global Partnerships and their focus is to inform, support and help drive implementation of the University’s strategy for global partnerships, engagement, and internationalisation, particularly regarding partners, staff and student mobility, and international student recruitment and support.

Purpose of Role: The successful candidate will carry out tasks appropriate to a Grade 4 role with a particular emphasis on EU mobility and recruitment activities; related SETU strategy, policies, processes; the developing International Education Mark guidelines; and related projects and initiatives assigned by the International Affairs Manager. During this exciting time of strategic development, growth and change for SETU, we are seeking candidates with strong interpersonal, organisational, and ICT skills. The post holder must have the ability to work in a tightly controlled and deadline driven environment. Principal duties and responsibilities: The post holder shall conduct tasks appropriate to Grade 4 including: ‒ Daily customer service for the EU mobility and recruitment activities of the International Office. ‒ Managing databases, filing and records systems. ‒ Maintenance and provision of relevant data in respect of all EU mobility and recruitment activities and related initiatives. ‒ Liaising with the SETU community, stakeholders and external bodies on issues/queries and for completion of assigned tasks. ‒ Recording of applicant details on access databases and maintenance of learner agreements and interinstitutional agreements. ‒ Reviewing applications for completeness before submissions to Heads of Department. ‒ Processing of applications. ‒ Creating student details on Banner. ‒ Communicating with applicant / partner HEI / as appropriate. ‒ Liaising with the finance department on funds to be paid on mobility programmes. ‒ Undertake other relevant duties from time to time as directed by the International Affairs Manager or other designated officer.

The above provides a broad outline of the duties and responsibilities attached to the position as currently envisaged. These may change over time in the context of evolving University objectives and organisational restructuring. Person specification – Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

• have obtained at least Grade D3 in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate Examination (higher, ordinary, applied or vocational programmes) or equivalent or have passed an examination at the appropriate level within the QQI qualifications framework which can be assessed as being of a comparable to Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent or higher or have appropriate relevant experience which encompasses equivalent skills and expertise • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills • Analytical and numerical ability, with strong attention to detail • Excellent computer skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (word, excel outlook etc.) and use of other IT systems • Flexibility and a positive attitude towards change • Evidence of working as a team player • An ability to deal with confidential matters • A commitment to advancing equality, diversity, and an inclusive community Hours of Work: The appointee will be required to work 35 hours per week together with any such additional hours as may be required for the proper discharge of their duties Salary: Grade IV Salary Scale €37,217 - €53,301 Annual Leave: 23 days annual leave. Annual Leave will be in accordance with arrangements authorised by the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science from time to time.
