About the role

With primary responsibility for supporting in the development of the strategy for our Food business in Europe and enabling the execution of this strategy, the Assistant Marketing Manager will work closely with key stakeholders to deliver category expertise, strategic planning, and generate creative ways to sell our portfolio to our customers. They are pivotal in the long-term business planning process specifically focused on working in a collaborative and cross-functional manner alongside the Food Strategy and Marketing leads, regional Business Units and the wider Commercial and Marketing teams to establish growth strategies.

What will you be doing?

• Be the Food category expert – drive and support in positioning the team as category experts internally and externally

• Have a strong understanding of where the category has been in the past, where it is today, and anticipate where it will go in the future

• Support in providing critical customer, consumer, geography and technology insight

• Collaborate with Insights team and third party data providers to close gaps in our category understanding

• Support in identifying any gaps in our current capability for future strengthening of our Food category value proposition

• Support the Activation and Foodservice Marketing teams to develop a detailed localized understanding of the Food category in the prioritized markets

• Support in ensuring accurate and optimal positioning of Kerry technologies in Europe on the basis of robust category knowledge, collaboratively working with the Activation Marketing team on execution of same into the marketplace as ‘One Kerry’

• Work closely with the Food Senior Marketing Manager and technology teams to ensure strategic alignment and European lens on all global activities to ensure relevancy to Europe and that the needs of region are met

• Work with Activation Marketing team to ensure marketing activities are aligned to needs of the Food category and regional European strategy

• Ensure category expertise and knowledge transfer that can be shared with Sales Teams to be used in customer engagements

• Work closely with the Food Senior Marketing Manager and Global Key Account Directors to build stronger and more strategic partnerships with selected Global Key Accounts, and support in enabling growth aligned with strategic account plans

• Responsible in ensuring budget management and management of key performance metrics against business objectives and strategies

What do you need to be successful?

• Bachelor’s Degree (essential). Bachelors or Master’s degree in Marketing, business or related field

• Previous solid Marketing Experience

• Must have Food industry experience

• Must have experience of dealing with Customers

• Be curious, analytical, and insight-led – always thinking about the ‘so-what’

• Ability to lead projects from inception to completion, including the management of multiple stakeholders (internal and external)

• Demonstrate a strong level of proficiency in the fundamentals of Marketing, Research and Activation, Consumer Insights and Data Analysis and Interpretation

• Excellent communications skills and a talent for sharing information with relevant stakeholders

• Ability to quickly grasp and become proficient in new concepts, ideas, technologies, markets, tools and ways of working

• An enthusiastic attitude towards effectively interacting with many different functions and serving as an active participant on a multi-national, multi-functional team

• Good capability in applying quantitative and qualitative analysis methodologies, interpreting and presenting findings in a clear, concise manner, including the creation and use of tables, charts, and graphics to summarize results
