The Role:

The Asset Management and Sustainability area is responsible for the development of asset policies, strategies and plans to determine the significant investment required into Ireland’s infrastructure. The area drives investment and the Sustainability and Innovation agenda for the organisation and leads on Environmental Regulation and Compliance activities, ensuring the quality of water and wastewater is continuously monitored. The Asset Management function is responsible for strategic planning, prioritisation, and development of Uisce Éireann’s Capital Works pipeline. The function plays a key role in promoting collaboration and co-ordination of activities across the three asset functions as well as providing environmental assessment and management expertise across Uisce Éireann

The Asset Planning team is accountable for the timely delivery of essential, value for money water services Infrastructure for Ireland. The scope of the team's responsibility covers 5 main areas: Housing Growing, Capex Pipeline, Risk Maintenance and Safety, Critical Assets and Leakage.

Reporting to the Asset Planning Engineer, the Asset Planning Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development of information strategy, security, governance structures and policies, data design, systems and reporting architecture along with the maintenance of Asset Registers. The role holder will be responsible for asset surveying, aggregation, development, and maintenance of asset databases and will collate and aggregate data from service providers and Uisce Éireann survey teams.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • On site surveying of Assets in Water Treatment Plants, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Pump Stations & Reservoirs
  • On site capturing of wastewater treatment activities on assets on the above mentioned site types
  • Raise risks and issues as appropriate to the Asset Planning Engineer
  • Liaise with Asset Segment Owners in relation to integrity and performance of the asset based on intelligence gathered from both internal and external systems (e.g. survey data)
  • Carry out asset data quality assurance and updates in response to changes made or identified in the field
  • Efficiently track and manage asset and location data throughout the asset lifecycle
  • Contribute to formulation and implementation of standards and best practices relating to Uisce Éireann’s asset management system
  • Contribute to the setting of operational performance indicators relating to asset data
  • Ensure that processing and provision of asset information aligns with the needs of the Asset Management and Operations teams and is compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that reporting is complete, timely and accurate, and that content is appropriate to users’ needs
  • Contribute to formulation and implementation of standards and best practices relating to asset information management and provision, in accordance with, and supportive of, regulatory requirements and company objectives
  • Act as a champion user within own region for related asset hierarchies
  • Derive trends and key data statistics on which policy decisions will be made
  • Contribute to achieving the objectives and targets of the Asset Management Business plans
  • Keeping up to date with best practice in Asset Management & Technology
  • Ensure that asset databases are maintained and are fit for purpose

General Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
  • Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards. 
  • Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
  • Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable and or relevant experience
  • A minimum of 1 years’ Experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable
  • Proactive with ability to work on own initiative and with others to ensure success in the performance of a team 
  • Proven effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise and remain focused 
  • Proven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from others 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey messages in a clear and concise manner 
  • Strong computer skills with a proficient working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to set up ongoing processes and procedure to collect and review information 
  • Flexible with regard to working in a changing environment and the ability to adjust to new work structures, processes and requirements as necessary 
  • Proactively identify new areas of learning and using newly gained knowledge and skills on the job 
  • Striving for quality and ensuring consistent high standards of work.

Please note the Market reference point (midpoint) of the range is generally the upper end of the offer where someone is deemed to be fully competent to take on the duties of the role, and leaves room for the employee to progress through the pay range as their experience develops further
