Area Manager

CDS Superstores, trading as The Range & wilko, is a privately owned and family-run retailer. We continue to grow and have over 200 Stores and online sales, serving millions of customers each week. Our customers remain at the heart of everything we do.

Our retail concept is simple - we offer 'mid-price' home, leisure and garden products, drawing together everything that could be needed for the stylish home at affordable prices.

As a result of our expansion plans and our continued ongoing success we are now looking to appoint a new Area Manager covering a number of our Stores in the West Midlands. As an Area Manager you will lead Store teams in your area, ensuring they are performing to their best.

We are looking for a hands-on, pro-active and resilient Area Manager. The successful candidate will be a commercially focused and a motivational leader with the ability to use your own initiative to deliver great results in a fast-paced and innovative retail environment.

The role?

Your duties will include:

• the delivery of all of your Area sales and profit targets
• working with your Store Management teams to establish and maintain excellent operational store standards
• the development of your Store teams to deliver a first-class customer service
• creating an environment where colleagues can produce their best work
• plan, monitor and regulate the financial performance of stores, identifying opportunities, remedying issues and maximizing the return from existing resources
• taking effective action to combat shrinkage and controllable expenses
• take responsibility for ensuring every possible measure is taken to enhance your Areas profitability.

The person?

We are looking to appoint someone who:

• has considerable experience leading a team across multiple sites and achieving outstanding results
• is a positive, front foot retailer who puts their customers and people first
• leads through knowledge and example
• displays a real passion for visual standards and strives to deliver excellent operational results
• will motivate and innovate their area, to deliver continued growth and the long term business strategy
• Is commercially focused, inspirational leader, with the ability to 'think outside the box’ in terms of how you deliver in your role.
