The Centre manager will engage and build relationships of trust with the International Protection Applicants in their centres. Development relationships with the local community, NGO’s Government agencies and report into senior management as line manager a staff team. The duties of the centre manager include;· To take on a leadership role within Accommodation Centre’s and assume responsibility for the management of the service· To organise the induction and training of staff, and to help build capacity within the team· To supervise and provide support to the staff· To model leadership behaviors and embed a positive values led culture· To contribute to the development of reflective practice in the service· To work with the leadership team and wider team to identify gaps in service provision and develop a plan to reduce these· To ensure the day-to-day operations of the service run smoothly and in accordance with the policies and procedures· To carry out administrative and financial procedures in accordance with organisation policies.· To ensure that administration and recording systems are in place and appropriately operated, and develop any new systems that improve centre operation· To ensure that all incidents, emergencies, events and handovers are recorded using the recording systems in place· To ensure a safe, welcoming and friendly environment is maintained in the operation of the Centre· To assume responsibility for and participate in carrying out any duties ordinarily performed by other team members if required to ensure a continuity of service delivery during staff shortages· To be proactive in addressing difficult or problematic situations as they arise in a sensitive and direct manner within the framework of the organisational policies and procedures· To have full responsibility as a Mandated Person and Designated Liaison Person for the Centre· To work effectively and in collaboration with IPAS, HIQA, HSE, Tusla, Gardai and all relevant agencies· To ensure effective risk management including Health and Safety standards· To ensure that the policies and procedures informing the running of Great Western House are adhered to· To carry out a range of administration tasks· To organise and contribute to team meetings and other meetings as required· To continue to learn and develop professionally through participating in training and workshops· Adhere to GDPR, IPAS and all Company policies and Procedures ﻿Delivery:Promotion:· Promote the rights and responsibilities of each person within the service setting such as following complaints procedure guidelines.· Promote equality, anti-racism, interculturalism and diversity within the wider community, voluntary and statutory sector with a particular focus on tackling anti-Migrant racism.Evaluation:· Plan, implement and evaluate plans, assess the staff team and mange as appropriate. Develop working relationships with NGO’s and Public sector organisations. Ensuring the written and verbal reporting of programmes within IPAS policies. Training and Continuing Professional Development:· Participate in all training programmes as directed.· Participate in professional supervision.Administration Management:· Work closely with and report to The Area Manager in the administration and management of the service.Reporting and Governance:· Assist the Area manager in all aspects of ensuring that the service is compliant with IPAS and HIQA Regulations.· Support the Area Manager in ensuring that assigned staff are aware and adhere to the policies, procedures and guidelines of the Service.· Ensure clinical records are properly and accurately maintained and that appropriate statistical information is provided. · The above job description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all duties involved and consequently, the post holder may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post, which may be assigned to him/her by their area manager.· Relevant work experience in programme administration and/or service co-ordination within a health/social care or community/voluntary setting. · An understanding of the Irish health system and social inclusion programmes and social welfare systems. · Ability to advocate for families from a health and social perspective, handle conflict, excellent negotiation skills and an understanding of conciliation techniques and cultural difference. · Have an understanding and appreciation of the health and social-related issues and needs confronting the target groups.· Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.· Excellent communication skills, including:• The ability to present information in a clear and concise manner.• Experience of making formal presentations to groups.• Strong written communication skills· Must have knowledge of Children First legislation· Promotional skills, including knowledge of various media platforms.·Motivation and an innovative approach to the job within a changing working environment.· Ability to successfully manage a range of different work activities concurrently and supervise a staff team. · Ability to manage one’s own time efficiently to ensure delivery of results and to work on own initiative.A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Zoom or other online platforms and IT skills.· 2-5 years’ experience of working in partnership with and across agencies, residential or community based work. · Track record of working with ethnic minority communities is desirable.· Strong community engagement experience and skills.Ability to communicate in different languages is desirable. A relevant third level qualification in health/social care/related field.ORHold a comparable relevant qualification of at least level 7 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland (QQI).· Access to own transport is necessary as travel will be required as part of this role.·Salary - The salary for this position is · Duration of Contract- The contract is for a full-time position for an initial period of 12 months subject to satisfactory performance. This may be reviewed with the intention of extension subject to satisfactory performance and the continued funding.· Probation - Minimum probation period of six months will apply.· Working Hours - 37 hours per week 9am – 5.30pm (Monday to Thursday) and 9am – 5pm on Friday.Please note that some evening work may be required outside of these hours.The Company offers Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) for additional hours worked outside normal working hours.·Annual Leave - Annual leave will be 25 days per annum.· Travel &amp; Subsistence - Travel and subsistence will be paid at public sector rates.Location of the position - Garda Vetting - Appointed candidates will be Garda Vetted.
