The Role:

This role will be based within the Analytical Operations department of the Almac Pharma Services (APS) Business Unit.

The Analytical Learning and Development Specialist will primarily deliver training within the Analytical Operations department, enabling all employees to perform analytical related activities in a GMP compliant manner.

In the role, they will promote a culture of learning across this group, by creating learning environments where employees can continuously develop and thrive. The specialist will work with their team members to develop and deliver the Analytical Operations training strategy.

The specialist will have a sound understanding of all analytical techniques and will competently provide theoretical and practical training on all aspects of the lab, including GMP compliance, sample preparation, and the use of a wide range of analytical instrumentation, for example HPLC (Including software training), Dissolution, FTIR, etc.

Within the role the specialist will provide ongoing support and mentoring for trainees and will provide feedback on progress to their line managers. The specialist will work on their own initiative to plan the training schedule, monitor the success of the training program, scrutinizing the results on a periodic basis, and implementing corrective actions to improve the program as required.

Key Requirements:

Essential Criteria

· Degree (or equivalent) in a Pharmaceutical Analysis, Chemistry or a Life Science with a significant chemistry component. Significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree

· Significant GMP laboratory experience

· Demonstrate Experience in:

o HPLC Analysis

o Other Analytical instrumentation

Desirable Criteria

(The following criteria may be applied if a large pool of applicants exist)

· M.Sc. (or equivalent) in Pharmaceutical Analysis, Chemistry or a Life Science with a significant chemistry component

· Training Qualification (Degree or Certificate) or equivalent industry recognised L&D qualification.

· Experienced in a training role / training system or previous significant experience in the training and mentoring of personnel within a technical environment.

· Experience in:

o HPLC Method Development and Validation

o Dissolution Method Development and Validation

o Planning and execution of Stability Studies

o Working knowledge and experience of GMP and ICH guidelines.

o Significant experience in the use of a wide range of common industry laboratory analytical techniques (UV, FTIR. KF etc.)

o Empower software

o LIMS software

o Data checking

o Raw materials testing and clean down analysis
