RTÉ News and Current Affairs provides comprehensive, independent and impartial news and current affairs programming across multiple platforms on digital, television and radio.

RTÉ News and Current Affairs have a vacancy for the position of Administrator, assigned to the Nationwide programme, based in Cork studios, on a fixed purpose (leave cover) basis.

Reporting to the Editor Nationwide, the Administrator will:

• provide administration and organisational support to the Editor, Deputy Editor and Nationwide team

• deal with daily queries and liaise with the Nationwide team

• book crews for the Nationwide team through the News Desk in Dublin
• compile content lists for all the Nationwide programmes for the following week
• be responsible for visual and music archiving for every Nationwide programme
• process payments for contributors and independent contractors

The successful candidate will have:

• excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
• computer skills, in particular Microsoft Office Suite
• a proven ability to prioritize demands and exercise judgement and discretion at a very high level
• familiarity with working in a very busy environment

Digital skills, knowledge of news production systems and broadcast experience would be an advantage.

This position will be offered on a full-time fixed purpose contract (leave cover) basis. The salary for this position at Administrative Grade 2 is €34,708 to €48,437 per annum. This role is based in Cork Studios.
