The Role:
The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland West Region provide a wide range of services to people with an intellectual disability and to their families in Galway and Roscommon. This position is within the Finance Services Team which provides a shared financial services centre covering the functions of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury functions, staff reimbursements, management accounts, financial accounts and budgets.
The Grade IV as a member of the Finance Services team is a role designed to:
• Provide “hands on” operational work for the core functions of accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing and banking and the finances of Persons Supported.
• Underpin the production of timely and accurate financial information monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
• Ensure that systems, processes, and procedures are operating to the standard expected.
• Facilitate changing business needs and business expansion.
There will be a good variety of experience on offer to the right candidate. The ideal candidate will be ambitious with the drive to get stuck into a ‘hands on’ position.
Reports / Responsible to:
Finance Manager.
Essential:
• A QQI Level 5 in Business Management/ Business Admin/ Secretarial Admin/ ECDL/ Payroll/Accountancy/Business Studies/ Commerce.
• Qualified or current student of ACA/ ACCA/ CPA or CIMA.
• Minimum of 3 years working in an account’s environment.
• IT Literate.
• Excellent working knowledge of Outlook, Word and at least intermediate level Excel.
• Strong numerical, analytical and attention to detail skills.
• Interpersonal skills that enable working with people at all levels.
• An ability to work within a team environment and be self-motivated.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
• Training skills – ability to impart information & guide non-finance staff through query resolution.
• A full clean driving license, which qualifies the candidate to drive on Irish roads.
Desirable:
• Experience of working in healthcare/disability sector.
• Working knowledge of accounts software packages.
Tenure of Employment:
The post is Permanent, Full-Time and Pensionable.
Location:
The post holder will be based in BOCSI Offices at Kilcornan House, Clarinbridge, Co. Galway.
Travel to external centres may be required as part of the duties of post holder.
Remuneration:
Clerical Officer Grade IV Salary scale (01/06/2024) - €33,756 x 9 increments - €49,702 per annum. LSI 1 €51,221 per annum is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.
LSI 2 €52,776 per annum is payable after a further 3 years.
Hours of work
70 hours per fortnight based on a 5 day Monday to Friday basis. Contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. over 7 days as future service needs require. Flexibility may be required in order to meet Service demands.
Annual Leave
The annual leave attached to this post is 26 days per annum.
