Highlife Chalet Host

Why should you work for Highlife?

This is a unique opportunity to work in the French Alps with Ireland’s No.1 ski chalet holiday company. You must be prepared to work hard but you will be rewarded with a competitive package and a schedule that will allow you to enjoy lots of ski time and free time. You must be available to work full-time in the Alps from mid-November until late-April.

Who are you?

To be considered for this role you must be confident to run a ski chalet for between 8 & 17 people. You have experience in a customer facing environment. You have great initiative and problem-solving skills and love the challenge of making sure every guest has a great holiday. You are also enthusiastic, friendly, courteous, approachable, professional, reliable, punctual, smart, tidy, a fast-learner, and have an eye for detail and excellent communication skills. <ad>

What will you have to do?

In order to ensure that our guests are having a fantastic holiday, you will provide an excellent level of service both in the chalet (by keeping it cosy and clean) and in resort (through providing assistance and information where appropriate. Duties include (but are not limited to)

• Serve arrival day lunch, breakfasts, aperitifs and evening meals in a professional manner • Keep your chalet cosy and clean every day

• Report any technical or maintenance issues within your chalet

• Update your guests every day with information to ensure they fully benefit from the activity options and events during their holiday

• Respond promptly to any requests from your guests and resolve any issues that impact on your guests’ enjoyment and use of the chalet • Communicate all chalet and customer issues to your Chalet Manager

• If you have a driving licence, you may also assist with driving duties in and around the resort

Highlife Chalet Chef

This is a great opportunity to run your own kitchen and a unique opportunity to work in the French Alps with Ireland’s No.1 ski chalet holiday company. You must be prepared to work hard but you will be rewarded with a competitive package and a schedule that will allow you to enjoy lots of ski time and free time.

Who are you? To be considered for this role you must be a qualified/experienced chef with the ability to deliver a high standard of food for parties of between 8 & 17 people all eating together.

You have a great way with food and with people and excel in producing excellent meals and in creating a lovely atmosphere for all your guests. To help you to do this, you will be assisted by a chalet host(s). You are reliable, punctual, well presented and have an eye for detail. You may already ski/snowboard but if not, you will have lots of time to get to experience and enjoy this side of life in the Alps.

What will you have to do? You will prepare breakfast and a 3-course evening meal on 6 days per week and be responsible for menu planning, shopping, budget control, and food presentation for your guests.

Duties include

• Design and plan menus and ensure all guest’s dietary requirements are understood and catered for

• Manage your stocks, plan and manage your budget, and purchase ingredients each week

• Prepare and help serve arrival day lunch, and then breakfasts, homemade treats, piste treats and a 3-course evening meal to an excellent standard six days a week, with the emphasis on fresh and varied ingredients

• Prepare children's earlier dinner when requested

• Keep your kitchen clean, assist in keeping your dining room clean and inviting, and light a fire each day.

Chalet Manager Role

You must be prepared to work hard but you will be rewarded with a competitive package and a schedule that will allow you to enjoy lots of ski time and free time.

Who are you? To be considered for this role you have what it takes to motivate a team of chalet hosts and chefs to deliver an excellent level of service to every guest. You are approachable, and you have a great way with people and take pride in ensuring your team and ultimately your guests have all the assistance they need, when they need it.

You are an excellent communicator as well as being enthusiastic, friendly, courteous, professional, reliable and punctual. You are a fast-learner, and have an eye for detail. You have at least 2 years experience in a hospitality/service environment as well as some experience managing a team. You have great initiative and problem-solving skills and want to make sure every guest has a great holiday.

You must have a full drivers licence, held for 2 years or more by November of this year, and be available to work full-time in the Alps from mid-November until late-April. Ideally you will have some skiing and/or snowboarding experience.

What will you have to do?

Our Chalet Managers are responsible for ensuring that our guests are having a fantastic holiday. You oversee the operational running of 3 chalets and supervise the chalet teams to ensure that Highlife standards are achieved, and all procedures and processes are being followed. You run a tight ship with clean chalets, great food, excellent service, efficient work processes and clear communication across your teams.

Duties include (but are not limited to) Guest relations

– Manage Arrivals/Departures and regular check-in with guests House-keeping – Daily monitoring including assisting with changeovers Delicious Food & Wine

– Monitoring and maintaining required standards Unbeatable Snowtime

– including updating accounts with in-resort requests Comfortable travel

– Running in resort shuttles Team management

– Including running weekly meeting

Marmotte Coordinator Role

You must be prepared to work hard but you will be rewarded with a competitive package and a schedule that will allow you to enjoy lots of ski time and free time. You must be available to work full-time in the Alps from mid-November until late-April.

Who are you? You are an experienced and qualified (QQI/FETAC Level 5 or higher) childcare professional. You love working with children but are a good communicator and can manage a team of chalet hosts to deliver a safe and enjoyable childcare programme. <ad>

What will you have to do? You will manage the Highlife Marmotte Club which is for children age 4 to 11 and runs from 11.45am to 3pm Monday to Friday. You will plan the weekly club itinerary, communicate it to parents, and ensure the safe and happy care of between 6 and 30 children, supported by a team of Chalet Hosts.

The Marmotte Club only runs for 8 weeks of the winter, so on the other weeks you will be helping the chalet teams, resort managers and other varied duties.

Duties include

• Manage the Marmotte club between 11.30 and 3:15pm Monday to Friday including planning the itinerary for the week and communicating the plan to your Marmotte team

• Communicate meal requirements to the daily lunch venue and monitor the quality

• Keep up to date and accurate records on a daily basis for all children in the club

• Communicate any issues to your Resort Management

• Assist in covering Chalet Host and other resort duties when Marmotte club not running

• Assist Chalet Teams on changeover days and with new guest arrivals in the ski shop on Sunday and help with lesson arrangements on Monday mornings

Driver and Maintenance Role This is a unique opportunity to work in the French Alps with Ireland’s No.1 ski chalet holiday company. You must be prepared to work hard but you will be rewarded with a competitive package and a schedule that will allow you to enjoy lots of ski time and free time. You must be available to work full-time in the Alps from mid-November until late-April.

Who are you?

You are an experienced, confident and safe driver that can drive a 9-seater minibus. You like interacting with people and will enjoy the fact that you will spend time with our guests shuttling them to and from our chalets. What will you have to do? Apart from spending much of your week shuttling our guests around resort, you will also be responsible for helping maintain certain facilities in our chalets. This means you have great initiative and problem-solving skills and enjoy the challenge of fixing things.

Duties include:

• Manage the daily Shuttle Service for guests in the mornings and evenings

• Keep minibus clean and vehicle usage/damage records up to date

• Assist in covering Chalet Host duties in chalets on approx. 2 days per week

• Preventative maintenance of the chalets in your resort and using your skills as problems arise in each chalet including hot tubs, appliances, home entertainment systems etc.

• Communicate all chalet issues that require attention to your manager immediately

• Ensure all chalet Recycling is cleared daily

• Help keep driveways and areas outside chalets clear of snow

• Drive chefs on weekly shopping days, and weekly trip to other resorts to deliver linen stocks
