Purpose of the role The postholder will coordinate the design and delivery of supports and activities for undergraduate students as part of the TAP Admissions and Post-Entry team. They will contribute to the team in areas including liaising with and reporting to funders in conjunction with the senior management team and the coordination and growth of the TAP pathways to professions programmes in line with the strategic objectives of TAP.

Context The Trinity Access Programmes (TAP) is one of six functions within Trinity Teaching & Learning (TT&L), which also comprises Academic Practice and eLearning, Curriculum Advisory unit, the Careers Advisory Service, Academic Quality Assurance & Improvement, Academic Policy development, and Council and Academic Committee Supports. TAP's mission is to work in partnership across the education sector with students, teachers, families, communities, and businesses to widen access and participation at third level for underrepresented groups. TAP supports students who enter College through the HEAR scheme, the Foundation Course, and other University Access Routes. For more information see http://www.tcd.ie/TrinityAccess/. Led by the Director, the TAP team comprises 30 staff and 14 academic tutors, who are responsible for research and development, course delivery, post-entry progression, innovative pedagogy, and schools' outreach to primary and second level DEIS schools. The admissions and post-entry team provides a range of supports and activities for students in TCD who have entered through an alternative entry route including the foundation course for mature students and young adults, partner FET routes, the mature entry route, the HEAR scheme and FET entry. This includes a large number of undergraduate programmes run in collaboration with several corporate partners and educational organisations. This is a specific purpose contract. The specific purpose of this contract is to co-ordinate the Pathways Programme for TAP, with primary leadership of the programme and delivery responsibility for the post-entry aspect of the activities. This is linked to the deliverables of the current TAP Roadmap Action Plan, the longer-term requirements of which, have yet to evaluated and established. Employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis as the deliverables linked to the current TAP Roadmap Action plan are expected to be achieved within a finite period. The role is dependant on the ongoing need for this specialised activity/support within the TAP Roadmap Action Plan.

Main Responsibilities The responsibilities of the successful candidate for the role will include: Overall Programme Leadership • Coordinating the TAP Pathways to Professions programmes and activities for undergraduate students including CV workshops, interview skills and careers speed meets. • Providing the lead co-ordination role of the Pathways programmes relating to funder representation and corporate relationship management. • Managing the reporting requirements of the full pathways programme which will include liaison with pre-entry lead to create statistics and reports for management and for funders. • Providing the lead co-ordinator role for the delivery of the programme in the post - entry student group. • Linking with the pre-entry Programme co-ordinator to ensure the smooth operations of the Pathways Programme overall between the two pillars as equal partners.

Post-entry programme co-ordination • Promotion of and recruiting for career development opportunities for undergraduate students provided by partner organisations including internships and placements. • Developing and maintaining a TAP alumni network in collaboration with the communications and development team. • Developing new career development opportunities for undergraduate students. • Identifying and pursuing opportunities to enhance and expand the Pathways to Professions programmes. • Providing regular reports on pathways KPls including undergraduate progression & retention, attendance at events, engagement with supports and post-graduate progression. • Developing, assessing, and updating evaluation instruments for these programmes. • Assisting the post-entry programme coordinator with the planning and delivery of the Pre-University Orientation Programme for all Junior Freshman TAP young adults. • Providing quantitative and qualitative data for ad-hoc reporting and research requests. • Providing support to the student finance committee in assessing scholarship applications. • Providing support to the associate director for communications and development in stewardship of supporters. • Reporting to, and liaising with private funders, affiliated TCD departments and schools and organisations, and other TAP partners. • Building relationships with staff in TCD schools and departments as well as corporate partners and other HEls. • Being responsible for event management relating to funders and students, taking leadership and advice from the management team, and specifically the Associate Director of Engagement.

Post Entry- General • Supporting the TAP Admissions & Post-Entry team in the delivery of programmes. • Assisting with the delivery of events and activities to engage TAP donors and supporters. • Providing quantitative and qualitative data for ad-hoc reporting and research requests. • Facilitating the compilation and completion of corporate, governmental and College reports. • Representing TAP on College and external committees, at meetings, conferences, and events. • Event management. • Assisting with communications and social media output, as needed. • Any other duties that arise from time to time as directed by the Associate Director of Admissions & Post- Entry, including deputising for colleagues as required. Person Requirements The successful candidate will ideally have:

Qualifications A level 8 qualification in education, community development, or a related area - Essential.

Knowledge & Experience • At least three years' work experience in a related area. • Experience of working with undergraduate students. • Experience of engaging with philanthropic and corporate organisations. • An understanding of issues relating to educational access by students from underrepresented socio-economic groups. • An understanding and experience of evaluating educational programmes.
