Fresh Food Advisor
We are currently recruiting for a Fresh Foods Advisor. This hands-on role is crucial to implementing and advising retailers on all categories within their fresh department and driving retailer performance within a defined area.
Some of the responsibilities of this role include the following:
To play a key role with retailers and their fresh teams advising how to optimise sales, achieve margin, and increase participation and profitability across the fresh areas.
- To identify any issues in underperforming fresh food areas and support the store to ensure they are resolved in accordance with company practices and guidelines.
- To build strong relationships with retailers, store managers and their fresh food teams to achieve a successful retailing environment that exceeds expectations
- To deliver ongoing fresh food training and develop stores to continually improve on their fresh food range standards.
- To demonstrate and train fresh food merchandising, stock management, portion control and waste management throughout the department.
- To drive implementation of new fresh ranges and innovation in store.
- To advise retailers on the role of food safety management and the tools required to achieve strong food safety standards and effectively implementing HACCP in store.
- To work with stores to quickly resolve and rectify any concerns raised by Environmental Health Officers
- To deliver training in respect of the BWG certified food safety management system to retailers and their staff
- To assist in the creation and delivery of relevant training course material to BWG customers and staff
- To work closely and collaboratively on an ongoing basis with team members, management and cross departmental teams as directed.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Previous retail experience is essential
- Passion for fresh food retailing
- Attention to detail
- Must be proactive and flexible, with hands on approach
- Knowledge of food safety at retail level
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to both motivate and influence
- The ability to work on own initiative, and as part of a team
- Good organisational abilities
- Strong computer skills (MS 365)
- Full drivers licence
